Free Whirlpool Generator
Calculate Whirlpool hashes. Input text to generate a secure, 128-character hexadecimal cryptographic digest.
The Whirlpool Cryptographic Hashing Algorithm
A whirlpool generator computes a 512-bit hash digest from any string input. Designed by Vincent Rijmen (co-creator of AES) and Paulo S. L. M. Barreto in 2000, Whirlpool is a highly secure hashing algorithm recommended by international standards (ISO/IEC 10118-3). It is based on a modified version of the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) block cipher.
Digest Length and Security Status
Whirlpool produces a 512-bit digest represented as a 128-character hexadecimal string. Unlike MD5 and SHA-1, Whirlpool has shown strong resistance to cryptographic attacks, and no successful collisions have been reported. It is suitable for file integrity checks and secure data representations.
Password Hashing Warning
Although Whirlpool is secure, it is a fast hashing algorithm. Like the SHA-2 family, fast hashes are not recommended for direct password storage because attackers can still use specialized GPU rigs to brute-force database records. If you are securing passwords, use a slow key-derivation algorithm like Bcrypt instead.
