Free MD4 Generator
Calculate MD4 (Message Digest 4) hashes. Paste your text input to get a 128-bit hex digest instantly.
The MD4 Hashing Algorithm
An online md4 generator calculates the Message Digest 4 (MD4) cryptographic hash. Designed by Ronald Rivest in 1990, MD4 was created to be a faster alternative to MD2, producing a 128-bit message digest. The algorithm influenced many later designs, including MD5, SHA-1, and the SHA-2 family. However, this speed came at a cost to its mathematical structure.
Important Security Warning: MD4 is Broken
Our md4 hash generator is provided solely for software testing and legacy systems support. MD4 is cryptographically broken; researchers have demonstrated collision attacks that take less than a second to execute. Do **not** use MD4 to protect database passwords, sign transactions, or verify file integrity in production environments.
One-Way Hash vs Two-Way Encryption
It is important to remember that hashing is a one-way formatting operation and does not encrypt text (there is no secret key to reverse it). If you want to generate md4 hash codes to interface with old systems (like NTLM password verification in old Windows NT environments), our tool provides a safe sandbox environment without storing any input parameters on our servers.
